Hofmann, a nine-year veteran of the company, will retain his CFO responsibilities while assuming oversight of daily operations. CEO Jeremy Wacksman expects the dual role to unify the firm’s capital allocation with its infrastructure development, specifically to speed up the expansion of Zillow’s integrated housing super app. The transition follows the departure of Jun Choo, who served as COO since late 2024 and will move into an advisory role to manage health concerns through the end of 2026.
Cassandra Knight joins the executive team next week to lead the company’s newly created legal and policy division. Her background includes high-stakes litigation roles at Google, PayPal, and Morgan Stanley. Her primary mandate involves navigating the policy landscape as Zillow continues to digitize complex real estate transactions. Supporting these leadership shifts, Zillow also promoted Katie Berroth to senior vice president of strategy and operations and Eric Wilson to senior vice president and general manager of mortgages, both of whom will report directly to Hofmann.
