The Dover-based energy firm, which trades under the ticker CPK, posted diluted earnings per share of $1.05 for the quarter ending June 30. Year-to-date net income reached $84.7 million, supported by a 9.6 percent growth in adjusted gross margin over the first six months of the year. Key drivers for this performance included transmission expansion projects, regulatory initiatives, and organic growth in natural gas demand.
Central to the company's long-term strategy is the newly announced $1.2 billion Florida Energy Pathway project. Designed to bring additional capacity and reliability to south Florida, the project is currently targeting an in-service date of 2030. To facilitate this and other ongoing infrastructure commitments, Chesapeake Utilities has increased its revolving credit facility to $650 million. The company expects total capital investment to exceed $2.2 billion for the five-year period ending in 2028, reaffirming its long-term earnings guidance of $7.75 to $8.00 per share.
