BioCytics and LIDE Biotech Forge Alliance for Immuno-Oncology Research

Huntersville-based BioCytics and Shanghai’s LIDE Biotech have launched a strategic partnership to develop advanced screening platforms for cancer cell therapies. By merging BioCytics’ cell manufacturing with LIDE’s patient-derived xenograft technologies, the companies aim to accelerate the development of personalized immuno-oncology treatments for patients facing solid tumor diagnoses.

The collaboration centers on creating murine models utilizing human biospecimens sourced from a long-standing clinical study managed by BioCytics. These models allow researchers to track critical biological responses, including drug resistance and induced cell death, during in vivo validation. Future phases of the project will incorporate DNA and RNA sequencing to analyze human anti-tumor immune cell functions, providing deeper insights into complex molecular pathways.

Dr. Brent Dixon, COO of BioCytics, noted that the partnership is specifically designed to advance autologous adaptive immune cell therapy. For LIDE Biotech, this marks a significant expansion, as it represents the company’s first formal collaboration with an American firm. Dr. Danyi Wen, LIDE’s founder and CEO, emphasized that the alliance aligns with her mission to bridge the gap between preclinical research and clinical application, ultimately making LIDE’s diagnostic tools more accessible to global researchers.
