UCC Environmental Acquires Cast Steel Products to Expand Industrial Reach

UCC Environmental has acquired Cast Steel Products, a move designed to consolidate two major players in the wear-resistant materials market. By integrating the Edmonton-based firm, UCC aims to bolster its performance parts portfolio, combining its global engineering reach with the specialized metallurgical expertise of its new Canadian subsidiary.

The acquisition unites complementary product lines across the mining, steel, and power generation sectors. Cast Steel Products, which has operated for over three decades, brings an extensive inventory of high-pressure grinding roll components, crusher liners, and heat-resistant castings to UCC’s existing operations. This follows UCC's previous purchase of Trimay Wear Plate, signaling a focused effort to create a comprehensive platform for heavy industrial maintenance and supply.

Kevin McDonough, President of UCC Environmental, noted that the deal grants their power generation clients access to specialized castings while simultaneously exposing CSP’s mining and steel customers to UCC’s broader engineering capabilities. Abdallah Fares, CEO of Cast Steel Products, emphasized that the transition aligns with his company’s long-standing commitment to technical quality and customer service. The combined organization will continue to operate out of CSP’s established facilities in Edmonton, Montreal, and St. Petersburg, Florida, aiming to improve delivery times and reduce total cost of ownership for industrial operators worldwide.
