The legal action centers on a period between February 21, 2025, and May 26, 2026, during which Insulet allegedly touted its manufacturing prowess and automated production capabilities. These public assurances of reliability were undermined by two separate medical device corrections involving cannula tears that caused insulin under-delivery. The first disclosure on March 12, 2026, triggered a 6.88% drop in share price, while a second, larger correction on May 26 involving approximately 7 million pods intensified market skepticism. By the time the full extent of the manufacturing issues surfaced, the company’s stock had fallen from roughly $236 to $146.01 per share.
Analysts at firms including BTIG and Goldman Sachs responded to the disclosures by cutting price targets and questioning the company's guidance, citing significant reputational risk. The complaint further highlights that company insiders sold $5.9 million in stock while the quality issues were allegedly being downplayed. Investors who purchased securities during the class period and incurred losses are now eligible to seek recovery through the pending action, which is being handled on a contingency basis by Levi & Korsinsky.
