When completed, the station stood as the largest of its kind globally, boasting the highest voltage rating for any offshore converter installation.

The environmental impact of this generation is substantial. The output equates to roughly 3 million tonnes of standard coal, effectively preventing 7.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Operated by China Three Gorges Renewables, the project remains a benchmark for long-distance offshore power transmission in the region.
