Universal Music Group Nears Completion of €250 Million Buyback

Universal Music Group has accelerated its capital return strategy, repurchasing over 2.7 million shares during the third week of August. The Hilversum-based music giant spent approximately €41.9 million on these transactions, bringing the total outlay for its current buyback program to more than €235 million since early August.

The company acquired exactly 2,788,648 shares between August 17 and August 21 at an average price of €15.01 per share. This activity forms a significant portion of the €250 million program announced on August 6, 2026. Cumulative data shows that UMG has now secured 15,586,984 shares, nearing the upper limit of its authorized allocation. The firm continues to release weekly updates on its investor portal to satisfy European market disclosure requirements under Regulation (EU) No 596/2014.
