Coinbase Integrates Chainlink Oracles for Tokenized Stock Trading

Coinbase has tapped Chainlink as its official oracle infrastructure to provide continuous pricing for its newly launched tokenized stocks on the Base blockchain. This integration allows decentralized finance protocols to treat equities like NVDAc and AAPLc as collateral, bridging the gap between traditional capital markets and onchain liquidity.

The partnership enables builders across the Base ecosystem to integrate institutional-grade price feeds into lending markets, decentralized exchanges, and structured products. Previously restricted to basic transfers, these tokenized equities—issued as B20 tokens and backed 1:1 by shares held in regulated custody with Alpaca—now function as composable building blocks for complex financial instruments.

By mid-July 2026, the market for tokenized real-world assets reached $2.3 billion. Antonio Garcia-Martinez, Head of Growth at Base, noted that the move provides millions of users access to financial primitives once hidden behind traditional gatekeepers. Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, added that the infrastructure ensures the secure, reliable pricing necessary to accelerate the convergence of TradFi and DeFi. Coinbase clarified that these tokenized assets remain available exclusively in eligible jurisdictions outside the United States.
