eSkill Debuts AI-Driven Intelligence Layer for Pre-Hire Assessments

San Antonio-based assessment provider eSkill has unveiled Linea, an AI-powered intelligence layer designed to accelerate the creation of role-specific hiring tests. By integrating semantic search and automated drafting tools, the platform aims to streamline recruitment workflows while keeping final hiring decisions firmly in the hands of human recruiters.

Linea launches with two primary applications: Linea Build and Linea Search. The former allows recruiters to generate draft assessments in seconds by inputting job descriptions or titles, which the system then populates using eSkill’s library of over 70,000 expert-validated questions. Linea Search employs semantic matching to surface relevant content even when user terminology deviates from the library’s internal lexicon. All recommendations are mapped against the European Union’s ESCO classification for skills and qualifications.

CEO Henry Tran emphasizes that the tool is designed to work alongside recruiters rather than replace them. To maintain transparency, the platform provides the reasoning behind every question selection, allowing hiring teams to audit the assembly process. Under the hood, the system utilizes Anthropic’s Claude models via enterprise APIs, with strict data protections in place: no candidate personal information is processed, and user inputs are excluded from model training. These features are currently available to all eSkill customers, with plans to expand the intelligence layer into deeper analysis and new test formats in the near future.
