SafeLease Expands Insurance Compliance Tools to Manufactured Housing

With roughly 35% of manufactured homeowners operating without liability insurance, Austin-based SafeLease is targeting a persistent gap in property risk management. The company’s new SafeHome suite aims to automate compliance tracking while providing affordable coverage options for residents who are often priced out of traditional homeowner policies.

The platform addresses a structural vulnerability for community operators, where uninsured losses frequently shift financial liability onto property owners. By integrating directly with existing management software, SafeHome allows operators to verify resident coverage through a centralized dashboard. This eliminates the manual administrative burden that currently leaves many lease requirements unenforced.

Beyond risk mitigation, the product introduces a secondary revenue stream for operators through monthly administrative fees collected on enrolled homes. Kierstin Payne, Director of Manufactured Housing Sales, noted that while liability clauses are standard in most leases, the industry has lacked a streamlined mechanism to track compliance. SafeHome offers liability limits ranging from $100,000 to $500,000, with premiums starting at $20 per month to ensure accessibility for residents. The rollout makes these tools available to manufactured housing communities nationwide.
