Grupo México Finalizes Acquisition of Saavi Energía Power Assets

Ten power plants and three gas compression stations have officially changed hands as Saavi Energía completes its merger with Grupo México. The consolidation creates a massive energy platform in Mexico, boasting 4.5 gigawatts of generation capacity and positioning the entity as a dominant force in the country's high-demand regions.

The finalized deal reshapes the ownership structure of the combined enterprise, with Grupo México securing a 70% controlling stake. Global Infrastructure Partners, a subsidiary of BlackRock, retains the remaining 30% interest. This integration merges Saavi Energía’s existing facilities with the power generation assets of Grupo México, alongside a mobile power generation business.

Management anticipates the merger will bolster the company's financial standing and scale, allowing it to leverage its expanded operational footprint. By uniting these strategic assets, the new platform aims to solidify its status as a primary energy provider across the Mexican market, addressing power needs in areas of highest consumption.
