Mark Selby, CEO of Canada Nickel, noted that the collaboration is intended to de-risk the startup phase by leveraging SMS Equipment’s established track record in similar Canadian mining environments.

The two companies expect to finalize definitive agreements and fleet support contracts by the first quarter of 2027. This timeline aligns with the broader development schedule for Crawford, as the company pushes toward a formal construction decision later that same year. Financing arrangements for the fleet will involve the Taykwa Tagamou Nation, reflecting the company’s ongoing efforts to secure long-term operational stability in the region.
