Skinbetter Science Claims High Tolerability for Retinoid-Sensitive Users

Ninety-eight percent of participants in a new 12-week clinical study reported they could use AlphaRet Overnight Cream nightly, according to data released by Skinbetter Science. The findings, unveiled during the brand’s third annual National Retinoid Week, target consumers who have historically struggled with retinoid-induced skin irritation.

The study, which observed 56 participants with self-identified retinoid sensitivity, aimed to address the common trade-off between potent anti-aging efficacy and skin irritation. Beyond the tolerability metrics, the research demonstrated significant clinical improvements over the three-month period. Participants showed a 42% increase in hydration levels and a 48% improvement in skin dullness, while 95% reported that their skin felt smoother and firmer.

Annie Gonzalez, a board-certified dermatologist and founder of Glösense Dermatology & Aesthetics, noted that the study’s focus on a population that previously failed to tolerate other retinoids sets these results apart. The brand, which marks the tenth anniversary of its proprietary AlphaRet Technology this year, continues to position its products as a bridge between prescription-strength results and daily comfort. Skinbetter Science plans to leverage the week to expand consumer education through dermatologist-led digital content and physician partnerships.
