ULVAC Reports Sharp Profit Decline in First-Half Results

ULVAC Inc., the Japanese manufacturer of vacuum technology equipment, saw its net profit tumble to ¥6.20 billion for the six months ending December 31, a sharp decrease from the ¥10.41 billion recorded during the same period last year.

ULVAC Reports Sharp Profit Decline in First-Half Results

The company’s financial performance faced significant headwinds across all primary metrics. According to the latest earnings report, group revenue fell to ¥123.89 billion, down from ¥134.87 billion a year earlier. This contraction in sales directly impacted the bottom line, with operating profit nearly halving to ¥8.46 billion compared to the ¥15.34 billion generated in the prior first half.

Financial Performance Breakdown

The downturn extended to pretax figures, which reached ¥9.15 billion, trailing significantly behind the ¥16.05 billion reported in 2024. Earnings per share also reflected the broader decline, dropping to ¥125.95 from ¥211.33.

The results, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, highlight a challenging period for the Chigasaki-based firm. Despite the lower figures, the company remains a critical supplier in the semiconductor and flat-panel display manufacturing sectors.
