Atera’s AI Agent Promises 321% Return for Enterprise IT Desks

A new Forrester Consulting study reports that Atera’s autonomous IT agent, Robin, can generate a 321% return on investment over three years. By automating up to 90% of service desk tickets, the platform aims to provide enterprises with millions in net present value while curbing the need for additional headcount.

The report, commissioned by Atera, modeled a composite organization with 2,500 employees and a 30-person support staff to quantify the financial impact of deploying autonomous AI. Analysts found that the platform delivered $7.3 million in risk-adjusted benefits against $1.7 million in costs, resulting in a net present value of $5.5 million. Payback for the investment was achieved in less than six months.

Beyond direct cost avoidance—including $3.3 million saved on ticket resolution and $241,000 in avoided hiring—the study highlights a shift in operational focus. By absorbing repetitive, low-value tasks, the AI allows IT teams to transition from reactive troubleshooting to strategic initiatives. Interviewed organizations noted significant performance gains, with one healthcare firm reporting SLA compliance improvements from 75% to near-perfect levels. Atera CEO Gil Pekelman noted that the findings offer IT leaders the quantitative evidence required to justify AI expenditures to financial stakeholders.
