Spun off from LG U+, the KidsTopia platform allows children to explore virtual spaces and interact with AI characters. To meet the requirements of the kidSAFE Seal Program, the developers overhauled their safety framework. New measures include real-time chat filtering, an automated system that masks sensitive information like names or home addresses, and an upgraded user reporting process that alerts the moderation team instantly.
Beyond data privacy, the platform introduced specific guardrails for its AI-driven features. Children are now clearly notified when they are communicating with an AI character to prevent confusion, and the app prompts mandatory breaks after extended sessions. Mingu Kim, CEO of Inculab plus, emphasized that building parental trust is critical for the platform's global growth. Shai Samet, founder of the kidSAFE program, noted that KidsTopia is now among the few South Korean services to hold this specific designation, citing the company's proactive approach to refining its digital environment ahead of wider adoption in markets including the United States, Japan, and Singapore.
