This aggressive expansion of capital return signals management’s intent to stabilize stock performance following a difficult start to the year that saw the company’s value slide by 16%.

RB Global Doubles Share Buyback Capacity to $1 Billion

The Toronto Stock Exchange cleared the amendment, allowing the commercial assets and vehicles marketplace to acquire up to 14.2 million shares. This represents roughly 10% of the company's public float, a significant increase from the previous ceiling of $500 million, which targeted about 7% of shares.

Following the announcement, shares climbed 2.1% to 119.32 Canadian dollars in Toronto, while New York-listed shares tracked upward by 2.3%. The company’s latest filing reveals that it had already repurchased 5.36 million shares at an average price of $93.22 as of September 11, setting the stage for this broader effort to address investor concerns regarding the stock's recent volatility.
