Ascot Group Launches Foundation to Formalize Global Philanthropy

Marking its 25th anniversary, global specialty insurer Ascot Group has established The Ascot Foundation, a 501(c)(3) entity designed to centralize its charitable initiatives. The new organization will prioritize three specific sectors: health and wellness, education, and environmental sustainability across the company’s primary operating hubs in the U.S., UK, and Bermuda.

The foundation aims to unify the company's previously fragmented charitable activities under a single strategic framework. To drive this mission, Ascot has formed three regional committees tasked with guiding corporate giving and fostering local engagement. Alongside this structural shift, the company is implementing an employee matching gift program and organized volunteer opportunities to deepen staff participation in community causes.

To commemorate the quarter-century milestone, the insurer is launching a special anniversary campaign, awarding grants to 25 nonprofit organizations. CEO and President Jonathan Zaffino stated that the initiative is intended to create a more scalable and sustainable approach to corporate philanthropy. Bill Thygeson, Chief Human Resources Officer, added that the move reflects the firm's internal culture, which they describe as The Ascot Way. The company, which reported $16 billion in total assets as of March 2026, continues to operate its insurance and reinsurance business through its interconnected platforms in London, Bermuda, and the United States.
