Golden 1 Credit Union Scales Business Banking Suite Across California

Sacramento-based Golden 1 Credit Union is widening its financial portfolio to include specialized business checking, savings, and money market accounts. The move aims to bolster California’s entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small-scale operators by integrating digital tools and commercial resources into the institution’s nearly century-old service model.

The expansion introduces a suite of digital banking capabilities, including ACH and wire transfer services, designed to streamline daily financial operations for local business owners. To further support enterprise growth, the credit union has integrated merchant services through Clover and payroll processing via Paychex. This development complements the organization's existing commercial lending infrastructure, which already ranks among the largest in the U.S. credit union sector.

Donna Bland, president and CEO of Golden 1, emphasized that the initiative focuses on the role businesses play in local job creation and economic stability. By providing these resources, the member-owned institution seeks to address the specific needs of sole proprietors and community builders. With over $22 billion in assets and a membership base exceeding 1.2 million, the credit union is positioning its expanded services as a primary resource for California’s evolving economic landscape.
