The credit union’s A+ Gives Day, scheduled for October 12, will mobilize more than 500 employees to volunteer across the region. By allowing the public to vote daily online, the organization aims to amplify its charitable impact, mirroring the success of last year’s campaign which tallied over 3,900 votes. Each entry grants a nonprofit a chance to secure one of the five available grants.
Eric R. Kase, President and CEO of A+FCU, emphasized the importance of this collaborative approach to philanthropy. Employees will personally deliver the donation checks to the winning organizations while participating in service projects ranging from park maintenance to food insecurity programs. To participate, voters must be Texas residents at least 18 years of age. Since its founding by 50 Austin teachers in 1949, the credit union has grown to serve over 191,000 members with $2.52 billion in assets.
