Arevon Advances Construction on 250MW Daly City Battery Project

Arevon Energy has reached a significant construction milestone at its Cormorant Energy Storage Project in Daly City, California. The 250-megawatt facility, designed to provide 1,000 megawatt-hours of capacity, is scheduled to begin operations in 2027, serving as a critical buffer for the state's power grid during peak demand.

The project, developed in partnership with Primoris Services Corporation, is set to support approximately 321,000 homes by storing excess energy during off-peak hours and discharging it when consumption surges. Utilizing lithium iron phosphate battery technology, the site is expected to generate over $73 million in property tax revenue throughout its operational life, providing funding for local schools and public infrastructure.

Beyond grid stability, the installation carries environmental and community benefits, including a projected avoidance of 174,000 metric tons of CO2 annually. Arevon has secured a long-term offtake agreement with MCE, an electricity provider serving 1.8 million residents across four California counties. The collaboration also includes a $500,000 community investment fund directed toward local programs, reflecting Arevon's broader strategy of integrating renewable infrastructure with regional economic support.
