Frontier Airlines Mechanics Ratify Five-Year Teamsters Contract

A decisive 93 percent of Frontier Airlines mechanics voted to approve a new five-year collective bargaining agreement. The deal secures substantial wage hikes, increased pension contributions, and improved vacation time for nearly 500 technicians who maintain the carrier’s fleet, marking a significant victory for the union bargaining unit.

The contract addresses long-standing demands for better compensation and retirement security. Beyond immediate salary bumps, the agreement introduces higher license premiums and grants an additional week of vacation for employees reaching 15 years of service. These provisions apply to members represented by Teamsters Locals 19, 104, 455, 769, and 986.

Dave Saucedo, Director of the Teamsters Airline Division, noted that the agreement reflects the specialized nature of the mechanics' work. Lead negotiator Don Ramsey of Local 455 emphasized that the bargaining team remained focused on member priorities, specifically ensuring that seniority and dedication were rewarded. The deal effectively stabilizes labor relations for the airline while delivering concrete financial gains for the workforce.
