Vancouver-based timber giant West Fraser Timber Co. The new financing facility, which matures in September 2029, allows the company to settle a $300 million loan originally due in 2028. According to the company, the loan carries floating interest rates based on U.S. Base Rate or SOFR advances and provides the option for early repayment without penalty. West Fraser maintains its separate $1 billion syndicated credit facility, which remains active through May 2030.

Following the refinancing, the company reports a proforma cash balance of $219 million and total available liquidity exceeding $1.2 billion. Sean McLaren, President and CEO of West Fraser, characterized the deal as a vote of confidence from banking partners that strengthens the firm’s near-term position. Concurrent with the debt restructuring, the board declared a quarterly dividend of US$0.32 per share, payable on October 19, 2026, to shareholders of record by September 29.
