The new entity will operate as a bridge between Scania’s existing production capabilities and the rapidly evolving Chinese technology landscape. Focus areas include energy transition and autonomous vehicle systems, leveraging the company’s industrial hub in the Nantong and Rugao region for real-world testing. The initiative is designed to move beyond traditional manufacturing by fostering strategic partnerships with local government and tech stakeholders to refine business models before scaling them globally.

Kelly Fu joins the group with a background in digital mobility and investment, having previously held key roles at DiDi and G7. According to Camilla Dewoon, Executive Vice President of Scania Group, the platform is a long-term commitment to a market that balances massive scale with high-speed innovation. By aligning local insights with global engineering, Scania intends to accelerate the deployment of battery-electric and hydrogen-powered heavy transport solutions.
