The infrastructure project provides the necessary scale and diversity for massive data transport, positioning Albany as a primary regeneration point. This arrangement highlights a broader trend of hyperscale organizations seeking dedicated, high-performance pathways to manage growing regional traffic. According to Lorenzo Leuzzi, Chief Revenue Officer at FirstLight, the company is increasingly becoming a trusted partner for organizations requiring mission-critical capacity at this scale.

FirstLight operates a network spanning 20,000 route miles across the Northeast, including New York, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Pennsylvania. By controlling its own physical infrastructure, the firm offers carrier-grade transport and colocation services to sectors ranging from healthcare and finance to state government. This latest route expansion underscores a strategic focus on strengthening the digital backbone of the region to meet the requirements of modern, high-density IT environments.
