Geekplus Launches Düsseldorf Robotics Hub for European Logistics

More than 150 industry executives gathered in Düsseldorf as Geekplus unveiled its first European Innovation Lab, a facility designed to bridge the gap between abstract AI concepts and tangible warehouse operations by allowing firms to test advanced robotics systems in simulated real-world environments.

The site serves as a live testing ground for the company’s automation suite, including Pallet-to-Person and Shelf-to-Person systems, alongside the Gino 1 humanoid robot and the RoboShuttle Hyper. By providing a dedicated space for hands-on evaluation, Geekplus aims to help logistics providers like GXO, DSV, and LPP Logistics gain technical clarity before committing to large-scale deployments.

Deputy Mayor Josef Hinkel noted that the lab strengthens the city’s position as a hub for international innovation and collaborative technology. For Geekplus, the facility represents a shift toward localized support, with Rinus Geurts, Sales Director for Western Europe, emphasizing that clients require measurable outcomes and end-to-end validation rather than theoretical promises. The company anticipates the lab will host over 1,000 visitors annually, supported by partners such as Anera, CMC Packaging Automation, and KEMARO.
