Long Beach Medical Center also secured the Gold Plus award for heart failure treatment, further distinguishing its clinical performance in managing chronic cardiovascular conditions. These accolades are part of the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines initiative, which tracks hospital adherence to clinical evidence designed to reduce mortality and hospital readmissions.
Beyond the Gold Plus awards, both facilities earned the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll designations. These distinctions reflect a rigorous approach to rapid diagnosis and specialized therapy. According to Eugene Kim, M.D., chief medical officer at MemorialCare, the recognitions validate the system’s focus on providing advanced, evidence-based care within local communities. Both hospitals maintain Comprehensive Stroke Center status, utilizing integrated systems to handle emergency stroke cases with speed and precision.
