Field Medical Reports 94.2% PVI Durability in Field PULSE Trial

A 12-month study published in JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology confirms that Field Medical’s high-voltage focal pulsed field ablation system achieves 94.2% per-vein durability. Presented at HRX Live 2026, the data validate an "instantaneous ablation" workflow that reduces the necessity for prolonged catheter stability during complex atrial arrhythmia procedures.

The Field PULSE trial evaluated the FieldForce™ PFA System, an architecture originally developed for ventricular procedures where depth and control remain significant clinical hurdles. By extending this technology to the atrium, researchers achieved a median elapsed pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) time of 13 minutes, with some procedures completed in as little as 7.7 minutes. Beyond the pulmonary veins, 49% of study participants underwent additional non-PV ablation, demonstrating the platform’s utility in diverse cardiac substrates.

Dr. Vivek Reddy of Mount Sinai Health System, the trial's lead author, noted that the system delivers full applications in under 200 milliseconds. This speed allows for point-by-point precision without the stability requirements typical of legacy ablation methods. With no primary safety events observed and 80% freedom from atrial arrhythmias at the one-year mark, the findings provide a foundation for the company's broader clinical development. This publication follows the 2025 release of the VCAS trial results, reinforcing the versatility of the high-voltage focal PFA approach across different heart chambers.
