Memphis-based MedHaul addresses the $180 billion problem of missed appointments by using AI to coordinate specialized medical transit, while New York’s Slingshot AI offers Ash, a conversational platform for early-stage mental health support. Rounding out the group is Xandar Kardian, which has developed radar-based, touchless bedside monitors that track vitals without the need for wearable devices.

These projects represent a shift toward AI applications that prioritize administrative efficiency, language accessibility, and proactive monitoring. By automating tasks like translation and scheduling, these tools aim to reduce the burden on both patients and providers. The winning solution will receive the $1 million grant to accelerate its reach, backed by a coalition of supporters including The M&T Charitable Foundation and AARP. The final selection will take place during a live showcase at Harvard, highlighting technologies capable of scaling rapidly to meet the needs of millions of people who currently face significant barriers to care.
