The facility marks a strategic shift for the startup, which unveiled its Dexterous Intelligence technology less than two months ago. By integrating its Tacta Hand and AI engine with human-captured data, the company aims to automate high-value manufacturing tasks in the automotive and electronics sectors. The Singapore site provides the necessary proximity to a mature semiconductor ecosystem, allowing the company to accelerate production as it targets global scale.

To bridge the gap between prototype and industrial rollout, Tacta is partnering with the A*STAR Institute of Microelectronics to refine tactile sensor production. Vikram Pavate, CEO and co-founder, noted that Singapore’s engineering talent and existing manufacturing infrastructure were primary drivers for selecting the region as its first international base. The company plans to ramp up hiring in the fourth quarter, specifically targeting roles in manufacturing and test engineering to support the upcoming deployment phase.
