By pulling information such as family medical history, breast density, and prior genetic lab results directly from Epic, the system pre-populates risk assessments. Patients simply verify or update these details through a redesigned portal rather than reconstructing their medical history from scratch.

For providers, the integration removes the need to leave the EHR to manage complex care plans. Clinicians can now refine pedigree data, initiate biomarker testing, and generate personalized screening intervals within their existing interface. Michelle Settlemeyer of OSF HealthCare noted that the update enables teams to translate genomic data into actionable clinical steps more efficiently. These tools are available immediately via the Epic Showroom, supporting health systems in managing the full continuum of care from initial prevention to long-term survivorship.
