DLC Offloads Randhurst Village After Decade-Long Retail Overhaul

After eight years of aggressive repositioning, Elmsford-based DLC has sold Randhurst Village in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The transaction marks the conclusion of a strategy that transformed the sprawling open-air center from a collection of vacant department stores into a high-performing hub for national retailers and local dining.

DLC acquired the property in 2016, initiating a comprehensive redevelopment plan to modernize the aging retail footprint. The firm dismantled the 200,000-square-foot Carson Pirie Scott box, replacing it with Macy’s and HomeGoods, while filling other vacancies with brands such as Skechers and Nike. These efforts were supported by the company’s internal affiliates, NWS Architects and Renovo Construction, which streamlined the design and building process to accelerate tenant openings.

Today, the center retains a strong anchor lineup including Costco, Jewel-Osco, and The Home Depot, complemented by AMC Theaters and Planet Fitness. According to CEO Adam Ifshin, the sale serves as a validation of the firm’s owner-operator model, which prioritized active management over passive holding. The Newmark Retail Capital Markets team, led by Conor Lalor, Keely Polczynski, and Brian Schneiderman, represented DLC in the sale.
