Fluence Energy Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Manufacturing Failures

A securities class action lawsuit now targets Fluence Energy following a series of earnings misses that erased $3 billion in market value. The litigation centers on allegations that the company misled investors regarding its manufacturing capabilities and the operational status of key facilities intended to meet surging data center demand.

The complaint, filed by Hagens Berman, alleges that Fluence failed to disclose that its revenue projections relied on incomplete and non-operational contract facilities. While management previously touted the company’s ability to capitalize on energy storage demand, the suit claims these assurances ignored unsuccessful remediation efforts and significant production bottlenecks. The core of the issue involves a Houston-based facility meant to produce thermal management systems for the Gridstack Pro battery solutions. CEO Julian Nebreda Marquez eventually admitted that production lagged because the company was forced to rely on manual welding rather than the automated processes promised to stakeholders.

Investors witnessed a steady erosion of share value starting in February 2026, when Fluence first reported margin compression and mounting net losses. By September 16, 2026, the company slashed its revenue guidance by 20%, citing ongoing construction and production delays. Between the initial disclosure and mid-September, Fluence shares plummeted 73%, a drop of $21.33 per share. Reed Kathrein, the partner leading the investigation, is now probing exactly when management became aware of the systemic welding failures at the Houston site. The firm has set a lead plaintiff deadline of November 27, 2026, and is actively seeking input from potential whistleblowers familiar with the company's internal operations.
