The deal unites two entities prioritizing clinical autonomy and provider-led cultures. For the 33 newly affiliated practices, the transition provides immediate access to Heartland Dental University, an extensive professional development platform, alongside centralized administrative services ranging from human resources to procurement. The move ensures business continuity for patients, maintaining existing relationships with their trusted practitioners.
Foundation Dental Partners joins a string of recent acquisitions for the Effingham-based firm, which has absorbed several groups including Smile Design Dentistry over the past 13 months. Beyond administrative support, the integration introduces advanced clinical tools to the acquired practices, such as VideaAI-powered diagnostics and updated digital scanning technologies. Pat Bauer, President and CEO of Heartland Dental, emphasized that the affiliation aligns with the company’s strategy of partnering with providers who maintain high standards for patient care. Adam Ditto, CEO of Foundation Dental Partners, noted that the partnership preserves the culture that defined his organization while offering new professional growth avenues for staff. Ropes & Gray LLP advised Heartland Dental, while Truist Securities and DLA Piper LLP represented Foundation Dental Partners in the transaction.
