A $256 million investment is set to transform the industrial landscape in Starkville, Mississippi, as Southwire officially breaks ground on a massive 380,000-square-foot facility expansion. The expansion signals a significant commitment to the Starkville plant, which has long served as a cornerstone of the company’s manufacturing operations. Veronica Braker, Executive Vice President of Operations, noted that the project is designed to foster a safer, more efficient work environment while bolstering the company’s capacity to meet growing market demand. For the local workforce, the construction represents a long-term shift toward increased productivity and expanded career opportunities.

Starkville Plant Manager Erik Adams emphasized that the facility upgrades go beyond mere physical space, positioning the site for sustained growth over the coming decade. Construction is scheduled to commence in late 2026, with the plant expected to reach full operational capacity two years later. This investment reinforces Southwire's broader strategy to integrate advanced manufacturing processes across its North American footprint.
