Operators have historically been forced to stitch together coverage across multiple carriers to manage risks associated with power, cooling, and business interruption. Corgi’s new offering streamlines this process by bundling construction, commissioning, and operational insurance into a single program. This includes delay in start-up protection for developers and business income coverage for facilities forced offline by unexpected losses.
The program distinguishes itself by offering residual value protection for GPUs, treating the hardware as a financeable asset. According to Corgi co-founder Nico Laqua, the insurance industry has struggled to keep pace with the rapid evolution of digital infrastructure. By catering to colocation operators, edge data centers, and AI compute hosts, the company aims to provide a unified risk management framework that scales with the current surge in AI-focused investment.
