The facility will launch with a secured 75 MW power capacity connected via a Fingrid substation. Beyond providing digital infrastructure, atNorth plans to integrate the site into the local energy ecosystem. CEO Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson stated that the firm is actively exploring heat reuse initiatives and flexibility solutions to support the regional transmission grid, mirroring similar sustainability collaborations the company maintains in Sweden and Denmark.
Local officials view the project as a major economic catalyst. Salo Mayor Anna-Kristiina Korhonen noted that the investment will drive employment during both the construction phase and long-term operations, reinforcing the region's appeal to high-tech industries. Matti-Juho Ervasti, a partner at Regant Oy, credited the site’s selection to the municipality’s development-ready infrastructure and the clear power roadmap provided for large-scale operations. The Salo project joins a growing list of atNorth developments across the Nordics, including sites currently under construction in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
