Dallas to Host Inaugural DIY CON Featuring HGTV Stars and IKEA

Fair Park in Dallas will transform into a creative hub this November as the inaugural DIY CON launches a three-day festival for home improvement enthusiasts. Running from November 6-8, 2026, the event promises an immersive mix of hands-on workshops, expert-led demonstrations, and appearances by industry-leading renovation professionals.

The convention aims to bridge the gap between digital inspiration and practical execution. RX Global, the team behind New York Comic Con, has curated an agenda that includes interactive sessions on home organization, design techniques, and professional-grade building skills. IKEA joins the lineup as a primary partner, offering attendees direct access to their storage systems like PAX and TROFAST, alongside workshops focused on maximizing residential space.

Headlining the stage is Emmy-winning host Ty Pennington, who will lead a panel titled “Building Together: Behind the Renovation” alongside Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt of 100 Day Dream Home. The session will pull back the curtain on the realities of high-stakes renovation, covering the balance of budgets, family dynamics, and professional design choices. This trio joins a broader roster of influencers and television personalities, including Drew and Jonathan Scott of Property Brothers, Chelsea and Cole DeBoer, and DIY creators such as Mr. Kate and Brent Gentling.

Beyond the celebrity panels, the event serves as a networking ground for makers ranging from novice crafters to full-time professionals. With interactive activations and vendor marketplaces scattered across Fair Park, the organizers intend to foster a community-driven environment for those looking to refine their craftsmanship. Tickets and VIP packages are currently available through the official event website, with organizers encouraging early registration for those seeking access to exclusive creator sessions.
