This volume represents a significant climb from 2024, when the firm estimated it managed just over 10% of the corridor’s traffic. According to data from Banco de México, the country received $41.8 billion in total remittances during the first eight months of the year, a 2.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. With 99.1% of these funds arriving via electronic transfer, Bitso’s B2B division has successfully integrated itself into the plumbing of international finance.
Felipe Vallejo, CEO of Bitso Mexico, noted that the scale of this adoption proves digital assets have graduated beyond speculative interest. For the end user, the underlying blockchain technology remains invisible, focusing instead on the speed and security of the final transaction. As remittances continue to account for approximately 4% of Mexico’s GDP, the company's reliance on stablecoins to reduce friction has positioned it as a dominant player in a market that historically relied on slower, legacy banking systems.
