Stein joins the Dallas-based firm following a 29-year tenure in the industry, most recently as sales lead for the Specialty Capture division at NEP. His early career at Fletcher Chicago saw him introduce foundational broadcast technologies, including the Above-The-Rim and high frame rate pylon cameras that remain staples of modern sports coverage. This background informs his new role, where he aims to pivot ICAT toward a more proactive communication model.
For broadcast crews, the margin for error is non-existent. Missing a delivery window for specialized camera equipment can jeopardize entire productions, impacting financial outcomes for networks and advertisers alike. Recognizing this, CEO Brad Stogner noted that Stein’s intimate understanding of network pressures is vital as live production demand surges across streaming platforms and traditional broadcasters like ESPN, CBS, and FOX.
Stein intends to replace the industry’s traditional reactive logistics approach with a system that prioritizes transparency before issues arise. As streaming giants and fragmented rights holders increase the frequency of concurrent global events, ICAT is positioning its logistics framework to handle the heightened complexity of modern live media. For Stein, the mission is simple: in the world of live sports, equipment arrival is the only metric that matters.
