AlloSource Expands Women’s Health Portfolio with UroConnex Fascia

Surgeons specializing in urogynecological procedures now have a new option for structural support with the launch of UroConnex Fascia by AlloSource. The Colorado-based life sciences firm designed the human tissue allograft to provide a reliable alternative to autologous fascia in complex pelvic repairs and reconstruction surgeries.

Available in both frozen and freeze-dried formats, UroConnex Fascia offers a range of sizes to accommodate diverse surgical requirements. The product aims to streamline procedures while minimizing patient risk. By providing a ready-to-use, off-the-shelf solution, the company seeks to improve handling precision and reduce the need for additional tissue harvesting from the patient.

Charles Manuele, Senior Director of Soft Tissue Matrices at AlloSource, described the launch as a push toward higher standards in patient care. To address safety concerns, the tissue undergoes terminal sterilization through irradiation to a sterility assurance level of 10⁻⁶. This addition complements existing products like the AlloMend Duo Acellular Dermal Matrix and AlloWrap Amniotic Membrane, which are currently utilized in treatments for pelvic organ prolapse, fistulas, and urinary incontinence.
