Since its 2021 opening, the Nall Avenue location served as the organization's flagship site, but rapid growth necessitated a shift in strategy. With a second, larger storefront already operating at 10460 W. 103rd St., the nonprofit chose to pivot toward a mobile model rather than maintaining two physical locations in close proximity. CEO Amber Schreiber noted that the mission was never confined to four walls, and the truck will provide additional training shifts and serve as a mobile stage for the team members, known as Super Scoopers.
The transition coincides with National Disability Employment Awareness Month. By hitting the road, the nonprofit aims to increase its visibility at festivals, office events, and schools. All staff members currently employed at the Nall Avenue shop will retain their positions, moving either to the 103rd Street store or the new mobile unit. This expansion complements the organization’s existing wholesale operations and the Golden Connection program, which supplies products to special education classrooms in local school districts. A public ribbon-cutting ceremony for the vehicle is scheduled for later this fall.
