Palomar Products Secures CMMC Level 2 Defense Certification

With fewer than 1% of the Defense Industrial Base meeting the standard, Palomar Products has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2. This milestone validates the Rancho Santa Margarita firm’s ability to handle sensitive military data, cementing its role as a secure supplier for global naval and airborne communications.

The certification followed an intensive third-party audit of the company’s internal cybersecurity infrastructure. By reaching this tier, Palomar joins an exclusive group of roughly 2,000 organizations nationwide authorized to manage high-level defense contracts that demand stringent data protection protocols. The achievement serves as a formal verification of the security safeguards Palomar has embedded into its manufacturing and operational workflows.

Paul Ninefeldt, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, noted that the process required an organization-wide overhaul to align with federal requirements. For the company, which supports technology across 250 aircraft types and nine classes of warships, the status is a strategic necessity to maintain its position within the TransDigm Group portfolio. This credential ensures the company remains eligible for future defense programs where cybersecurity compliance has become a primary barrier to entry.
