Inside Allstate’s New Dallas Training Facility for Auto Claims

To keep pace with the increasing complexity of modern vehicle repair, Allstate has launched a 33,000-square-foot training center in Dallas. At its heart lies a specialized Auto Lab, where claims adjusters use real damaged vehicles and diagnostic tools to identify hidden issues that traditional classroom instruction often misses.

The facility, which opened in August 2026, moves beyond theoretical training by leveraging data from over 3.5 million past auto claims. By recreating common damage scenarios—ranging from hail and flood impacts to intricate sensor failures in advanced driver-assistance systems—the lab ensures adjusters can accurately assess vehicles before they reach the repair shop.

Equipped with 22 vehicles and four motorcycles, the lab features a two-post lift that allows adjusters to examine undercarriages and structural components firsthand. Mike Fiato, Allstate’s executive vice president and chief claims officer, noted that the increasing sophistication of current vehicle tech requires a deeper understanding of how damage affects the entire machine. By observing repair techniques in a dedicated negative-pressure zone and using the same diagnostic equipment found in professional shops, staff are better prepared to guide customers through the complexities of modern insurance recoveries.
