Planon Expands Building Management Software to North American Field Services

Boston-based software provider Planon is bridging the divide between office-bound building management and mobile workforces with the North American launch of its Field Services Solution. The platform aims to consolidate facility maintenance, asset tracking, and technician dispatching into a single interface for distributed organizations.

The new software targets operational inefficiencies that often plague service providers, such as poor communication with customers and disjointed scheduling. By integrating the entire service lifecycle—from initial contract management to final billing—the system allows companies to coordinate internal teams and subcontractors on a shared platform. This unified approach replaces the common industry practice of toggling between disparate workplace management tools and field service applications.

Kimberly Castle, President of Planon North America, noted that most existing market solutions force companies to choose between workplace management and field service tools. By combining these functions, the software provides a clearer view of assets across campuses and remote sites. The system is designed to support a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, and higher education, where managing a mobile workforce is essential for maintaining complex physical infrastructure.
