Robin Integrates Claude to Automate Corporate Space Planning

Workplace teams can now bypass rigid software workflows by using a new agentic planning tool from Boston-based Robin. By integrating the Claude AI model directly into its platform, the company allows managers to generate seating charts, stack plans, and real estate scenarios through simple conversational prompts.

The system pulls data directly from a company’s existing infrastructure, including floor plans, utilization metrics, and HRIS records. Instead of manual spreadsheet manipulation, users describe their goals—such as reorganizing teams or planning for new hires—and the AI generates a proposed layout. Once approved, the platform automatically updates maps and notifies affected employees of their new assignments.

Beyond basic seating, the tool models long-term real estate strategies. It can process lease costs and headcounts to calculate the cost per occupied seat, offering executives data-driven recommendations for lease renewals or footprint reductions. By identifying underutilized desks that have seen no activity for 30 days, the software allows teams to convert static office space into flexible, bookable areas.

"No two companies work the same way, so no two offices should either," said Ciara Peter, Robin's senior vice president of product. The feature is currently available to customers using the company's One Workplace Platform, marking a shift toward AI-native tools that adapt to specific business priorities rather than forcing users into standardized planning templates.
