Covetrus Upgrades Supply Chain with RELEX AI Forecasting

Managing a network of 28 distribution centers and over 10,000 individual stock-keeping units, U.S. veterinary wholesale company Covetrus has officially deployed RELEX Solutions’ AI-driven forecasting and replenishment platform. The transition aims to replace legacy systems, reduce inventory days of supply, and sharpen demand accuracy across the firm’s national operations.

The implementation, supported by the consultancy Demandtex, aligns Covetrus’ sales, finance, and logistics departments under a unified planning model. By automating previously manual forecasting tasks, the company intends to better navigate the complexities of scaling its veterinary supply network. The software provides advanced scenario planning tools designed to maintain high service levels while lowering the capital tied up in excess inventory.

John Simonovich, Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement at Covetrus, noted that the platform’s specific strength in wholesale channel planning was a decisive factor in moving away from the company’s former infrastructure. For RELEX, the project adds to a portfolio of over 600 global clients, reinforcing its push into the wholesale pharmacy and veterinary distribution sectors.
