Corgi Insurance Enters Commercial Trucking Market

San Francisco-based AI insurer Corgi launched a specialized surplus lines program this week, aiming to automate coverage for owner-operators and growing fleets. The new offering provides protection against physical damage and general liability, marking the firm's latest expansion into the transportation sector.

The program addresses traditional bottlenecks in the trucking industry by leveraging proprietary underwriting technology. According to Daniel Hausman, VP of Trucking Services, the platform allows businesses and agency partners to bypass manual paperwork and secure quotes directly online. This initiative consolidates the entire lifecycle of coverage and claims management within Corgi’s internal team.

This move complements the carrier’s existing suite of transportation products, including its established Auto Liability lines. By focusing on excess and surplus markets, Corgi targets businesses that often face friction in traditional underwriting channels. The company continues to position itself as a tech-first carrier, utilizing automated data processing to manage specialized commercial risks for high-growth enterprises.
