Holmberg, who led the Pittsburgh-based health giant since 2014, will transition to the role of executive chairman. During his 12-year tenure, the organization grew from approximately $17 billion in annual revenue to a projected $35 billion by the end of 2026. As executive chairman, he will work alongside the board to oversee the transition and support long-term strategic goals.
Hanlon joined the organization in 1997 and served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer before her current role. She is credited with spearheading major expansions, including the acquisition of Gateway Health and the integration of health plans in New York and Kansas. Her tenure as CFO was marked by record revenue growth and the stabilization of the Allegheny Health Network through significant capital financing. As CEO, she plans to maintain the company’s Living Health strategy, focusing on simplifying and reducing the costs of healthcare services for the millions of Americans covered by the network.
