The platform draws from Atmosfy’s existing infrastructure, which maintains a live video map encompassing 500 million experiences across 100 million locations globally. Through its new intelligence model, Spectra, the company converts these disparate video clips into a cohesive, time-sensitive record of environments ranging from restaurants and hotels to stadiums and event venues. This transition marks an expansion for the firm, which previously focused on social discovery for younger demographics, into the burgeoning market for video and data licensing.
CEO Michael Ebel suggests that as AI systems increasingly influence consumer choices—from travel bookings to local recommendations—they require a more grounded perception of current conditions. By integrating with established partners like Expedia, Capital One, and SeatGeek, Atmosfy seeks to ensure that automated decision-making reflects the actual, shifting state of venues. The company, backed by investors including Redpoint Ventures and Canaan Partners, is positioning its data as a vital layer for training models that need to interpret, rather than just predict, the physical world.
